Round 3: ABC hands first loss to US Monastir

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tunisian US Monastir (2-1) on the court of Ivorian ABC on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by ABC 90-74. ABC forced 22 US Monastir turnovers. It was a good game for Nigerien guard Abdoulaye Harouna (196-1992, college: Miami, OH) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Very important is a road loss of Rwandan REG (3-1) against Mali Stade (2-2) on Saturday night. Visiting REG was crushed by Stade in 84-64. It was a great evening for forward Aliou Diarra (-2001) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Souleymane Berthe helped adding 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Delwan Graham (200-1988, college: Jacksonville, agency: BIG) with 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stade will play against ABC in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. REG will play against US Monastir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in was also quite interesting. Senegalese Douanes (2-2) played at the court of Nigerian Kwara Falcons (0-4). Douanes managed to secure a 7-point victory 75-68 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Jean-Jacques Boissy who led the winners and scored 22 points and 4 assists. Jeremiah Mordi came up with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for Kwara Falcons in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Douanes will meet US Monastir (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kwara Falcons will play against ABC and hope to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 3 Stade were beaten by Douanes on the road 74-58.
